Thornbury Castle

Thornbury Castle in Bristol, It is a grade I listed building. The only Tudor castle in the UK which operates as a hotel and restaurant. Construction was begun in 1511 as a further residence for Edward Stafford. The main ranges of Thornbury framed courts, of which the symmetrical entrance range, with central gatehouse and octagonal corner towers, survives, together with two less regular side ranges with many irregular projecting features and towers. Our work consisted to prepare a sketch scheme for Kenneth Bell to provide more bedrooms. We undertook a program of planting vines and converted some rooms to form a winery.
