The Henry Doubleday Research Association, Coventry

The Henry Doubleday Research Association. The HDRA went through a period of rapid growth. We were asked to provide a master plan for the campus, which would accommodate all the various activities. This including a visitor centre, a restaurant, teaching and research facilities, a library, lecture theatre, workshops, parking, offices and gardens. Most particularly the have the heritage seed library where they store and reproduce seeds of old varieties of crops to preserve diversity in the gene pool. The buildings were to be built in phases, to be sustainably run as a demonstration scheme. The scheme was a success and the site is still going today.
